Oak Point at Kiawah Island Resort:

A Perfect Shotmakers Experience.

Oak Point is a Clyde Johnson design, part of the Kiawah Island Resort. Located on the mainland as you are heading to the resort, this layout features relatively open fairways, gentle sloping greens and yardages that make it extremely playable for golfers of any skill level. Built on the remnants of an old cotton and indigo plantation, Johnson has routed the layout around well placed ponds and finishes with a beautiful view of the river. Oak Point is a shot makers layout, giving you a chance to work on your game by presenting you with many different way to play the course.

Feature Holes Descriptions:

The finish to the front side is a cute wedge or short iron to a green site perched beside the river. Playing 135 from the back this precision hole requires a perfect shot while teasing you with the distraction of a great view. Claustrophobia might result while standing on the tee at Hole 14. Not overly long, but narrow and lined with tall trees your drive must be perfect to avoid the overhanging limbs and Spanish moss. The second shot plays to a buttressed green fully protected by water in front.  The same pond guards the green on Hole 15, a short par 3, with a wide shallow green complex. No more than a mid iron for most, this hole demands distance control and placement to have a chance at making par.
