With a long and historic golf background, Sea Island Golf Club is the most recognized golf facility in the Golden Isles. Rees Jones was hired to rework the Plantation course from the foundations laid by legendary architects, Walter Travis, Allison and Colt and Dick Wilson. He blended their collective genius with his style, designing a challenging, varied routing incorporating ponds, stately oaks and his trademark bunkering. Description:  The first pick of the litter of stand-out holes may be one of the most fearsome tee shots of the entire round. The course’s shortest hole is a precise short iron to a buttress, three tiered green that is all carry with no room for error.  The back side opens with a brute of a Par 4, dogleg left wedged between the beautiful view of both ocean and the clubhouse. The next hole, Number 11 is a lengthy Par 3 guarded in front by water and a huge fronting bunker.  A back right pin is just vicious. The most difficult Par 4, Hole 13 has a pinched landing area with a steep fall-off into a pond on the left and OB down the right, with an elevated green-site as the final goal to reach.
